2008-09 IABC PPR Leadership Webconference Series
IABC Pacific Plains supports the leaders and members of the region’s IABC 21 chapters with resources and professional development opportunities. Our goal is to foster a collegial network of professionals engaged in all aspects of corporate communication and to extend opportunities to members to expand their leadership skills and experience by participating at the local, regional and international level.
To that end, IABC PPR is pleased to roll out a new online webconference program – designed specifically to provide chapter leaders in our region with the opportunity to learn about hot topics your chapter needs to know about.
Why Participate?
The IABC Leadership Webconference series gives your volunteer leaders the following:
- A forum for chapter leaders in our region to come together with common goals, interests, challenges
- A specialized focus on the highest priorities of our regional chapters (programming ideas, financial management, succession planning, etc.)
- It enables chapter leaders to be introduced to one another and acts as a catalyst to build dialogue and networking among leaders facing common issues.
How Does It Work?
Each month, IABC PPR will host a free webconference on a particular topic of interest to your chapter volunteers. Make sure to invite those who are interested and/or responsible for the particular topic disccused—all they need is web access, a phone, and an interest in learning. Otherwise, this is a service provided by IABC PPR at no cost! (Note: We will be archiving these sessions for those who cannot participate, so for those who cannot participate in the live event, there is great value in that option as well!)

On each webconference, there will be approximately 15 minutes of leadership training revolving around this issue (featuring a special speaker who has expertise in this area) Then we’ll simply open it to the floor for general discussion among the chapter leaders participating, asking them to provide their best practices, solutions to challenges they face, etc. Time and again, our chapter leaders have told us the best leadership training they experience comes from sharing ideas and best practices with their peers
in other chapters!
